Title: Home for the Holidays
Rating: G
Author Note: I had 100 words before midnight therefore it counts! I might have had it in earlier but I got home from work late and then somebody drunk dialed me
Snow was falling when the Hogwarts Express pulled away from the Hogsmead station. It swirled outside making it impossible to see anything past the frosted glass. The students returning home for the Christmas Break were all excited. They ran shouting up and down the corridors and stuffed themselves with the goodies and hot butterbeer the witch with the trolley brought.
His father met him at King's Cross station. There was no embrace, simply a firm hand on his shoulder as he was steered him from the station, his luggage would be collected by someone else. A fireplace had been arranged for his father would never lower himself to taking Muggle transportation. Together they stepped into the emerald green flames and with a whoosh they were spinning home.
The familiar sight of the parlor greeted them and they stepped out for the fire place, his father brushing ashes from his black robes. The manor was decorated from Christmas. Garlands hung from the ceiling, wreaths on the walls, and a massive tree rose twenty feet in the air all covered in silver and crystal ornaments with hundreds of tiny candles flickering on every branch. He grinned, seeing the large pile of presents under the tree, all wrapped in emerald, ruby, and gold paper.
"Draco!"
He turned. His mother stood in the door way. Her usually somber face wearing a smile. She hurried forward and folded him in her arms and kissed his pale cheek.
"Welcome home my Darling."
