Title: Love makes you try to face your fear
Rating: T
Warning: None
Words: 295
Summary: When Hermione wants to beat a foe, there is a bigger one she, unfortunately, has to defeat first.
She was doing circles around it, like a beast around its prey, except she was feeling like the prey itself rather than like the predator.
The thing was motionlessly laying on the ground, slyly waiting for the right moment to reveal its true nature, to attack.
Sly, cunning, dangerous, her instinct was screaming at her to run away from it.
She used to have nothing against the object when she knew it only for its cleaning use however, now that it could fly, sweep her off her feet, make her leave the safety of the ground, it was another story.
The thing had become a foe. A foe she had to fight to win over another A foe she'd beat, if it didn't kill her first.
“You know, it's not going to bite you.”
Hermione frowned. If it could fly why couldn't it bite too?
“Besides, Lavender isn't so good at playing Quidditch, Ron didn't even look at her when she was flying and... and you're ridiculous, you're afraid so don't do it!”
“It has nothing to do with her! I just... think it'd be... nice to... to play with you guys.”
Ginny raised an eyebrow at her friend. “If I remember well, it has never bothered you before.”
Hermione lowered her head to hide her reddening cheeks. “I'll fly,” she mumbled.
“Are you sure?”
“I... by the way I already know the rules! That's the main thing, isn't it?”
“Besides the rules, in Quidditch, you have to fly, that's essential! But you hate that,” Ginny retorted, “yet you love Ron.”
Hermione glared at her, but was cut off before she could retort anything.
“It really does nothing good to be in love,” Ginny sighed.
