She was on the team, she was on the team!
Sirius had advised him to stay cool and collected. Well that was easy for him to say. All he needed to do was guard the goal that Lily was throwing Quaffles at while James had to fly around looking for the snitch, while also looking impressive.
Once they were in the air, James made several efforts to pull off tricks in front of Lily’s nose. James had just pulled an impressive Sloth Grip Roll when he was hit by a bludger.
James opened one bleary eye, Sirius’ face appeared blurry in his line of vision.
“If impressing her was your aim I would re-evaluate,” he then heard shoving and a yelp from Sirius. Lily’s face had now appeared,
“James, you idiot!” She laughed as she helped him to his feet.
Right, new plan of attack, thought James. Play the damsel in distress.
