Summary: "No one's died in ages" implies that someone had died once
Warming charms had stopped working against the bitter cold when the sun set in the night sky, and the thick sweaters did nothing to block out the sharp wind.
Justine Greene had long since gone numb, her seeking goggles where coated with ice, and the only way she was going to catch the snitch was if it flew into her hand.
Something flew over her head, maybe a bludger, maybe a player, Justine didn’t know, all she knew was that the game had been going on for nine hours and showed no signs of stopping.
Just then a buzzing sound began by her left ear, and Justine turned her broom around as fast as she could, barely hearing it through her earmuffs. The snitch hung there, its frozen gears causing it to fly sluggishly. An easy catch if she could convince herself to move her arm.
Thinking of blankets, Pepper Up Potion and hot chocolate she dove for it, in the process losing control of her broom.

Down she went.
Hours later, when the sun had risen and the temperature was more reasonable they found her, arm outstretched, and frozen solid, her fingers still wrapped around the snitch.
