Title: Winning Lily's heart
Rating: G
Warning: None
Words: 299
Summary: James on another attempt to win Lily's attention.
-----------------------------------------
James leant up against the dark wood of the Whomping Willow. Remus had put a rock on the notch, which froze the trees branches as he, Sirius and Remus spent their afternoon off. James was playing with a Snitch, he would let it go then catch it before it got too far.
James’ fingers had closed over the small golden ball when he felt Sirius straighten up beside him,
“Incoming,” he muttered. James quickly looked up to find a female figure striding down the hill, her red hair billowing behind her. James instantly shoved the snitch into his pocket and dropped onto all fours and began doing push-ups.
10 push ups later and he heard the angry voice of Lily Evans, “Severus says that his potions book went mysteriously missing this morning.”
“99…100,” he then spared the girl a look, “Look Evans, I’m busy training for Quidditch, but if we see Snivellus’ book we’ll let you know,” he then resumed his push-ups before he felt something strike against the back of his head.
“Ouch! Really-” but James was cut off by the return of Lily’s fiery tone,
“You listen to me Potter! I know you and you’re little friends took it. So I’m going to say this once, and once only. If the book is not with Severus by tonight there will be consequences!” her eyes blazed into his once more before she turned on her heel and carried herself back up the hill.
“You know it could be worse,” Sirius was saying, “She could have simply sent you an owl, but she bothered to come all the way down here. I think we’re making progress.” James grinned as he pulled up his hand to hi-five Sirius. Remus simply rolled his eyes before he turned back to his book.
