There is something exhilarating in the chase, the rush, as he dodges iron balls and iron-hard people, red ball in his hand. When he describes it to his mother, she smiles. She knows there won’t be many more days where he’ll be so open with her – twelve, after all, is an important age for a boy.
“I love being a Chaser,” he confides.
“Then a Chaser you’ll be.”
She brings it up to her husband in his study before dinner. “My son will be a Seeker,” Draco says in a hard voice, and Astoria knows it’s the end of discussion.
