He’s sixteen and walking hand-in-hand with Rose Weasley down the snow-blanketed streets of Hogsmeade. It’s surreal enough to be a dream. “You don’t understand my father,” he says with a humourless chuckle. “If he says Seeker, then Seeker it is. Chaser is no longer an option for me. What else could I do?”
“If you want to be a Chaser,” she says simply, “then be a Chaser. You’re the one playing the game. It is your choice.”
And really, Scorpius realises, it’s as simple as that.
