Title: The Quidditch Pitch (iii) Word Count: 181 Warnings: Summary: Hermione tries to find herself, looking for answers in an unlikely place. EWE.
-
“Professor McGonagall told me I might find you here,” a voice says, startling Hermione from her thoughts. She looks over into a face as familiar as her own. “Oh, Harry,” she breathes, and the next thing she knows, his arms are locked tightly around her and her shoulders are heaving, face buried in his chest.
Once her tears run dry, she forces herself to sit up, collect her composure, and Harry waits. When at last she can bring herself to look at him, she is prepared for the hate. Instead, he simply gestures around them, at the bleachers they’re sitting on and the oval field before them. “I loved this place,” he says fondly, reminiscing. “I used to come here to fly when I had problems to face. It was like therapy.” He turns and meets her eyes. “I’m glad it’s helping you now, too.”
They return to the castle arm in arm, and if the students whisper about Professor Granger and Harry Potter, both pretend not to hear it.
Behind them, the Quidditch pitch heralds their farewell. Never, never alone.

Oh hell no. That's too much like incest for me But I've always considered Harry a kind of support for Hermione, someone who would be there for her when nobody else was.
