"Ow," A young James complained, holding his knee. "Well don't touch it!" he shouted as his Father reached out to see his son's wound.
Harry chuckled, "You're going to have to let me see it before I heal it, kid."
James slowly removed his hands to let his Father look.
"It's not so bad," he said, curing it with his wand. "Ready for another try?" Harry asked, standing up.
James took a step back. "No way," he said, shaking his head, "I don't want to get back on that thing."
"James, it'll be fine," Harry said, pushing the broom a little closer to him. "You don't have to be scared."
James scoffed. "Easy for you to say; you never get scared."
"I get scared all the time," Harry told his son quietly
"Really?" James asked, staring at his Dad. When he saw the truth in his Father's eyes, he exclaimed, "but - but you killed Voldemort! You saved the world, Dad, how could you be scared?"
"Everybody gets scared sometimes, but you just have to be brave. I know you can do that, James, you're very brave."
James looked doubtful for a moment. Then, he nodded once, picking up his broom and swinging one leg over it before pushing off of the ground hard. He flew high into the air.
Harry beamed proudly at his son before picking up the Quaffle at his feet and throwing it to him. James looked nervous, but caught it.
A grin stretched over his face as he looked at his Dad. "I can do it!" he exclaimed, "Thanks, Dad."
Harry grinned at him, "Anytime."
