Title: First Flying Lesson Rating: PG Word Count: 240 Warnings: None Summary: Rose and Al's first flying lesson.
"Put your right hand over your broom and say up," an elderly Madam Hooch instructed, leaning fondly against her cane.
I did and she instructed and was surprised when the broomstick came flying straight up into my hands. I looked around to see if Al's had, too, but his was rolling around on the ground.
"UP!" he screamed, and the thing flew up so fast at his hand that he fell over. I giggled, trying to hide it, but he glared at me.
"It's not funny," he said, pushing himself up to his feet and glaring at me.
"It's a little funny," I said, smiling at him. He shrugged. "We should try out for Quidditch," I continued, "I bet I could make the team."
"First Years never make the House team," Albus said, like it was obvious.
"Your Dad did,"I reminded him.
"Yeah, well, my Dad did a lot of stuff no one ever did before," he said, "but that doesn't mean everyone else should try it."
I shrugged, "I'll give it a go, anyway. You won't know unless you try, right?"
Albus sighed, his broom finally flying up to his hand. "Hey, I did it!"
"Yes, congratulations, Mr. Potter," Madam Hooch said, glaring down at him. "Now let's see you ride it."
Albus gulped.
