Summary: The full moon brings in some animal activity
Wormtail, in rat form, scampered under the Whomping Willow as the other three quickly followed behind him. Remus was a little apprehensive, as usual, but he trusted that his friends would keep him out of trouble, for the most part.
Peter and James always looked forward to the full moon, but nobody anticipated it as much as Sirius. His grin was unwavering and his hands were shaking with excitement as he ducked beneath the tree limbs. James often joked that if he liked being a dog so much, Sirius should make the change permanent. (As far as James was concerned, the only reason Sirius still walked on two legs was so he could still ride on James' Silver Arrow broom.)
Only Remus knew his friend’s secret. Sirius’s desire to visit the Shack every full moon had almost nothing to do with being a dog for the night.
In the early hours before dawn, the others usually managed to fall asleep. Padfoot and Moony would be left alone before the full moon would disappear.
It was, by far, Sirius’s favourite time of the month.
