Title: Just my Irish luck
Rating: G
Character(s): Seamus Finnigan
Word Count: 232
Warnings (if any): None. Only you are entering a zone of explosive Cauldrons
Summary: Can Seamus pull off a potion for once?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Seamus waited until Snape was bending over Crabbe’s cauldron before he added his Valerian roots.
He had been careful to follow the instructions exactly and precisely. With one fluid motion he threw the roots in and ducked under the desk. Just as Dean yelled,
“Heads!” loud enough for only the Gryffindor table, before joining Seamus under their desk. Tense minutes passed, nothing was happening.
Slowly Seamus eased his head above the desk. He let out a cry of glee as Dean and the other Gryffindors yelled out their encouragement.
Snape was there in a moment,
“Well, well well the boy of ash managed to save a Galleon on a new Cauldron.” Snape’s eyes glittered down at Seamus his eyes boring into him.
“Carry on. I want to see how long it lasts.”
Seamus’ spirits had slightly dwindled after Snape’s encounter. He could tell Snape was furious that only excited him more. All the Gryffindor’s, and some Slytherin’s alike, were watching him.
Dean whispered in his ear,
“Come on buddy, show him what you’ve got”
Seamus in the excitement of the moment was measuring out Bubotuber pus and swiftly dropped it into the Cauldron. Once again nothing happened.
This time, the Gryffindor’s outwardly cheered and returned to their own Cauldrons. He picked up his last ingredient and sliced the Dried Nettle down the centre and pegged it into his concoction.
BANG
So close.
