Title: Forever lost
Rating: PG
Character: Molly Weasley
Word count: 260
Warnings: Fred's death mentioned.
Summary: She had failed and would forever regret it.
Dead, her child was dead. He was laying on the floor, pale, motionless, his eyes forever closed.
She'd never see them full of laughter, never hear his laugh again.
The war had taken her child to never give him back to her.
Her child, the light of her life, hadn't sacrificed his life for the Good, he had done so to protect them, his family, to ensure their freedom, their happiness.
Molly Weasley couldn't be angrier with her son at that very moment. That brat had lost his life for them, for her, his mother.
It wasn't right, it shouldn't have happened. A son couldn't die before his mother.
She was old, he was young, she were to die before him! She should be laying there instead of him! She should have protected him better! Because she was his mother for Merlin's sake!
It was her role to watch over her blood and flesh. It was her role to heal, to support, to help them.
Her role, not theirs. She should have been firmer and prevented them from participating in the final battle. She should, she should but she hadn't. She had failed to be a good mother. She had failed to make the good choices and now, in front her reddened eyes, laid her punishment.
Her child was dead, forever lost, forever condemning her heart to hurt.
Because as sure as she had failed him, Molly would never be able to recover from such a wound.
Her child was lost forever, and so was the happiness in her heart.
