Title: One look can tell a thousand Words
Rating: G
Character(s): Colin Creevey
Word Count: 283
Warnings (if any): I haven't written a fic in ages :S
Summary: Can Colin handle it when he realises what everyone really thinks about him? least of all Harry Potter?
-------------------------------
Colin sat in the corner of the courtyard. He clutched his coat around his neck with one hand and in the other he held his trusty camera.
Some of the other boys had been teasing him about his muggle contraption.
Only weak wizards played with such things, they had said. He turned his face up to the dark sky above him as he spotted snowflakes starting to flow peacefully, and soundlessly from the sky, melting before they reached the ground.
Harry Potter was nice enough to him. That was all that mattered, wasn’t it?
Harry had bought him some special potion for Christmas, that would make his pictures move just like the ones in the Daily Prophet. Of course he hadn’t dared to waste it yet. He had been waiting for the perfect picture, maybe one of him and Harry waving at the camera.
Then Colin remembered the way Harry ushered Colin from beneath him on almost every encounter.
It’s not Harry’s fault, thought Colin brusquely, he’s famous and very busy, plus he must get a lot of people wanting to take his picture everyday.
The next day Colin spotted Harry in a hallway and greeted him as usual,
“Hiya Harry!”
“Hullo Colin.” Harry said flatly, almost automatically. That was when Colin spotted it. He saw Harry exchange a glance with his best friend, Ron. It was nothing but mocking and sarcastic. Colin felt his chest tighten. He felt the tears begin to well in his eyes. He was a fool to think that someone like Harry Potter would enjoy his company.
Colin quickly turned away hiding his face.
He made a quick and silent promise,
Don’t worry Harry, I won’t bother you again.
