Title: Exclusion (II) Rating: G Word Count: 133 Warnings: none Summary: Hagrid has a realization.
He always was a bit of a klutz on a broom. His flights were wobbly and his take-offs were painfully slow; he never got higher than a few feet off the ground.
He knew that he was never the fastest flyer. He couldn’t make the steep dives or the sharp turns that he watched the adults make. He envied them and pretended to imitate them, but he could never replicate their moves.
Nevertheless, the young boy loved to fly. He would go wherever his easygoing father would permit. Until one day, he felt the broom pushing beneath him, but his feet were still planted firmly on the ground.
He was too heavy.
And at the age of four, Hagrid realized that he probably would never be able to fly on a broom again.
