Title: Dear Vic, Uh
Rating: PG
Word Count: 330 words.
Summary: Teddy puts his feelings to parchment.
Dear Vic
Well, uh, I didn’t get the chance to uh talk to you before the train left.
It wasn’t exactly how I had intended to send you into your last year at Hogwarts, though I suppose you had enough time to hex me before the train pulled away, and all you did was smile that little smile you smile and wave at your parents. You didn’t look mad. Or angry, or ready to castrate me. You looked happy. But you were getting away from me, so that may have been why.
But um, everyone knows that I was snogging you at the station. James had enough time after he interrupted us, to run into Harry and Uncle Ron and Ginny and Aunt Hermione and Lily and Hugo and tell them all, and I went to Harry’s for dinner and he said that your parents would almost have definitely heard by now. And that it was about time.
I guess my point is that I didn’t go to the station with the intent of snogging you. I meant to see you off, and see James and Al and Rosie off too. I meant to give you a hug goodbye and tell you I’d miss you and how you’re my best friend, Vic. That was all. But then it hit me that I wouldn’t see you for a while and I kissed you instead. I won’t lie to you and say it hadn’t crossed my mind before, that the idea of having feelings for you wasn’t a foreign feeling to me. I just don’t want it to ruin our friendship. So we can put this in the box of things to humiliate each other with or in the never talk about again box. In which case don’t mention it in your reply.
Anyway, Vic. Happy seventh year, and hope being Head Girl and Quidditch captain is all you want. I’ll be cheering in the stands at your next game.
Love,
Teddy.
