Title: In another life
Rating: T
Warnings (if any): Angst, sensitive issue
Summary: Even in death, there can be love.
Written for Operation Poufsouffle!
She could see it all happening before her, it was like a nightmare, and yet she could not quite bring herself to be scared, because she was distracted… A curse would shoot by her head, threatening to knock her back, perhaps never to rise again, and yet there was nothing she could feel but the gentle calming feeling of peace, because she knew he was there with her.
It was so strange to know that their chance had so readily been taken from them, like somehow the fates had decided that they were not to connect in this life… But even as she cried her words of ultimate punishment, screaming to the heavens her intentions, she could not help but truly believe the fates would not be that cruel.
“LUNA!” His voice shot across the ground, striking her like lightning –
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He had been so desperate to make sure she was safe, that he had missed it, his focus so pinned in on anyone within twenty feet; shooting their curses towards her… towards anyone, but mainly her… he did not see…
She was on the floor, crawling manically towards her… She was practically dancing in her movement, so beautiful, so striking, she was sending her curses, and yet there was still a dreamy look ever present on her face, and it was heaven, and then so suddenly his vision of her was blocked.
Between them, dressed head to toe in black, was Bellatrix Lestrange, she was so fast, it was almost impossible to see her movement, but with the flash of green, and he knew its destination.
He screamed her name, like it would actually change anything.
And then she looked at him, her eyes bright, her face set into a look so peaceful, even as the green shot like lightning before her, and he realise in that very moment, she did not realise, or perhaps chose not to.
She was encased into a bright green light, which faded slowly, until her body crumpled to the floor, and it was over so quickly, so instantly he was not sure it had ever happened. But as he rushed to her side, and held her face in his hands it was undoubtedly true. She was gone.
he did not look to see her murderer approaching behind him, or see her raise her wand, but in that second he saw everything.
It had been only an hour before it had all started; she was dancing, her blonde hair flowing behind her, as she giggled. She looked so beautiful in that moment of freedom, and she stopped and looked at him with these ever knowing eyes, and he was gone. His heart and soul was hers instantly, the look took his breath away… He had not realised she was standing before him, in his dazed state, but the sudden, gentle feel on her cold caress against his cheek… it was like he could feel that same caress around his heart and mind, his whole body… She had taken him in that second, so wholly and truly.
Death is not always as morbid as normally portrayed, sometimes it is the greatest moment of peace you will ever experience, even at such a young age, so cruelly taken from the world, all he could feel was the gentle caress of her hand, helping him come to her.
In their life with friends and family they had never had the chance to be with in other, but here and now, in this eternal world they had forever.
