Avatars/Icons
All avatar/icon images should be no larger than 100x100 pixels.
All images should be appropriate to be viewed by all ages. Any content that is over a PG rating could result in removal and a warning if it continues. If done more than once, King's Cross staff reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban you.
Hotlinking of images is strictly prohibited, and that goes for avatars, sigs, and any other image that you may post on King's Cross. For those that don't know, hotlinking is the use of a linked object, often an image, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site.
Sigs:
All images in your signature should be no larger than 150x500 pixels.
As with your avatar/icon, all images used in your signature should be appropriate to be viewed by all ages. Any content that is over a PG rating could result in removal and a warning if this continues. If done more than once, King's Cross staff reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban you.
How to put an image in your signature:
The easiest way to upload an image into your signature is to follow these steps:
Find the image you want to use. Make sure it does not exceed the 150x500 pixel maximum.
Save the image to your computer. If it does exceed the 150x500 maximum, then now is when you should edit it to meet the requirement.
The next step requires a Photobucket account. If you don't already have one, they are free and easy to make. You upload the image to your Photobucket account. There will be a "Direct Link". Copy it.
Next, you go to "Modify my Profile" and scroll down the page until you get to the area for your signature.
Paste the "Direct Link" for your image that you copied from your Photobucket account. You must place the link in between this image code: [img*][/img*] (Be sure to remove the stars) Your link goes into the space between the two brackets, [img*]like this[/img*]
Other:
All other images posted on the forums should be no larger than 300x300 pixels. Anything larger than that should be posted as a link to the image, or as a clickable thumbnail.
All images should be appropriate to be viewed by all ages unless a warning is posted in the title (see Fanfiction and Fanart Rules for more information on this). Any explicit content will result in removal and a warning. If done more than once, King's Cross staff reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban you.
