Title: Things Unexpected
Rating: T
Summary: Sirius' innocence was unexpected, so was his death, but what was written in his Will was the most unexpected thing, Harry Potter has a twin sister.
Hey everyone, here is a story I'm working on, I hope you like it, and point out any mistakes please, it would be appreciated, hope you like it.
Prologue:
It was a warm, quiet summer night, it was nearing midnight, and nearly everyone was sleeping. Though the Potters were still awake, so were their good friends Remus, Sirius, and Molly Weasley. Molly was upstairs with Lily, helping her give birth, while the boys were downstairs, all silently praying that the baby would wait, just half an hour. Til August 1, so the prophecy would not mean their baby.
Sirius stood at the fireplace in the drawing room, crossing his fingers, hoping. Remus sat on the couch, watching James pace around the room nervously, both hoping for another half an hour...only half an hour. Half an hour and he would be safe. But all those hopes flouted away when they heard a baby's cry from the upstairs bedroom. James, Sirius, and Remus all glanced up at the clock, 11:33. Their baby was in danger, Voldemort will want him killed.
Remus stood up quite suddenly, and cleared his throat before saying, "Someone needs to inform Dumbledore. It will only take a moment, I'll send your house elf, Trina."
James nodded, he had sat down on the chair, not looking anyone in the eye. Remus was almost in the kitchen, not bothering to even call for the elf, before James even looked up. And it was only because Molly had shouted for him. In less then a second James, Sirius, and Remus were upstairs and in front of the master bedroom's door.
Molly was standing with the door standing ajar. As soon as James was close enough, she handed him the bundled of blankets she was holding. Then with just a single sentence, she closed the door and went back to Lily. But that one sentence was enough to paralyze them all with shock."There's another baby." Three words. Only three words could surprise them all.
James looked down at the sleeping the sleeping baby in his arms, he looked exactly like James at that age. But as the baby opened his eyes he a copy of Lily's green eyes. James closed his eyes and held his baby boy closer to him, he may not have much time to spend with him.
James felt two separate hands touch his shoulders, Sirius and Remus' way of comforting him. A few moments later they heard another baby's cry, and, after a couple of seconds, the bedroom door was opened. Molly stood off to the side to let James in, Lily laid back in the bed, holding another bundle of blankets. James, still holding the first baby, sat down on the bed next to his wife.
"It's a girl," Lily said softly.
James looked down at the baby girl, she had bright red hair, but, as James watched, it was slowly darker.
"She's a Metamorphmagus," James said softly.
Lily nodded, "Her hair was pure white just a minute ago." James watched as her hair changed from fire red to black, to fire red again, to pure white, and back to fire red again. James let out a slight chuckle.
"What do you think of Harry?" Lily asked softly, looking at the baby in James' arms. "Harry James Potter."
"I love it," James said. "What should we name her?"
"You decide."
James thought for a moment, then, after remembering the flowers Lily planted out front, said, "Lilac, Lilac Oak Potter." James wrapped his hand around Lily's shoulder, and Lily laid back on his shoulder.
"Congratulations," Remus mumbled softly.
"Little Prongs Jr. and Pronslet," Sirius softly chuckled.
"We have to protect them, Lily mumbled softly.
"Harry will never be safe," James said, "and we can only hope that Voldemort doesn't go after Lilac."
"The only way to secure Lilac's safety is to send her away," Remus said. "Give her to someone you can trust."
Everyone was quiet, watching the two sleeping babies. Lily and James exchanged a look, silently agreeing on what to do. "I have a cousin," James said after a minute, "she's been living in Paris with her husband. They can't have children of their own. They would protect her with their lives."
"No one can know about her," Lily said, "except for them and whoever takes her to them."
At this everyone looked up at Sirius, who seemed to have lost his happy nature. "What spell do I have to do?" He asked, his voice cracking.
"The Memory Charm, it would work best," Lily said. She looked down at Lilac, holding her up so she could kiss her forehead. "I love you," she whispered, before handing her to James and taking Harry from him.
James looked down at the baby, and, just like Lily, kissed her forehead and whispered, "I love you." He stood up, and, barely taking his eyes off of Lilac, walked to wards Sirius. "Put it in your will," James said, "and don't let anyone know, no one but my cousin and her husband."
"I promise," Sirius said, taking Lilac from James. "No one will know until I die."
"Do the spell," James said, sitting back down on the bed and wrapping his arms around Lily. "Do it now."
Sirius held Lilac with one arm, while his left one reached for his wand. He looked around the room. Remus stood by the window with Molly, Lily had her eyes closed, leaning against James shoulder, clutching Harry in her arms. Sirius closed his eyes, and quietly mumbled, "Obliviate." Erasing all memory of Lilac.
