Title: Slytherin
Challenge: Hogwart's Express
Rating: PG
Word Count: 289
Warnings (if any): Slight angst.
Summary: To Draco Malfoy, Slytherin House was home.
Slytherin House was where the Malfoy's ruled; they owned that House like they owned their books. It was theirs, and no one could take that away from them.
Draco Malfoy found himself instantly at home in Slytherin House, something about being in that Common Room felt more familiar and homely than Malfoy Manor ever had.
Slytherin's were cunning, Slytherin's were ambitious, Slytherin's were resourceful. They knew how to get what they wanted, and wouldn't stop until they had it.
Slytherin's where also good leaders; logical leaders. They planned meticulously, never missing a detail. They weren't Gryffindor's, they wouldn't jump into a situation unaware of the outcome. Slytherin's would only start a fight if they knew they had the upper hand, and there was nothing wrong with that.
Draco looked around his Common Room with a smirk. Here in Slytherin House, people loved him, adored him even. Everyone looked at him as a superior and he was only in his Second Year!
It was such a nice change from being ignored at home, it made him never want to go back to his parents manor. It never was Draco's manor, or Draco's house, and he knew it never would be; it was cold and filled with dark magic.
Some people thought that all Slytherin's had to be evil, but the Slytherin's know this isn't the truth. Slytherin's can be every bit as nice as Hufflepuff's, or as chivalrous as Gryffindor's, if they need to be.
And even though most of the Wizard population looked down at him because of his family's Slytherin heritage, Draco didn't care.
Because, for Draco Malfoy, Slytherin meant home.
