Welcome to the King’s Cross Station Quidditch Tournament!
In this tournament, each House must work together as a team in order to score the most points and win the game! KCS plans to shake things up a little, so rather than players riding on broomsticks, our players are going to submit drabble fics!
For those of you who don’t know, a drabble is a short fic composed of exactly 100 words. We in the fandom like to stretch the margins a bit, and so we include fics up to 300 words as being of drabble quality.
There are only a few rules for this challenge –
1. All entries must be between 100 and 300 words
2. All entries must be original fics (this means that you cannot recycle old fics – entries to the drabble Quidditch tournament must be newly written and never-before-posted!)
3. All entries must be able to stand alone as an individual story (this means that you cannot simply write a long fic and then post it in 100-word segments – every piece must be able to be read alone as its own mini fic)
4. All entries must have the proper headings
But here is one different and very important rule:
5. In order for entries to qualify, they must relate in one way or another to Quidditch! (this doesn’t mean you have to write about Quidditch itself; instead, you might write about brooms, or about someone’s love for flying, or someone’s hatred of flying. If it pertains to an aspect of Quidditch, it will qualify for this challenge!)
This challenge will be a bit different from the norm in another way, too.
Here, each drabble submitted will constitute one goal (worth 10 points). When the 22nd of November rolls around, nominations will open and each member will be permitted to nominate three fics. When voting begins, each member may only vote for one fic. The author (Seeker) of the fic that ends up with the highest number of votes (the Golden Snitch) will receive 150 points toward their House’s total number of game points, effectively ending the Quidditch Tournament. Game points will also awarded to the runners-up in voting. The House who wins the tournament (that is, the House that collects the most points in this challenge) will see their efforts noticed in a nice and public way
As usual, reviews will result in 5 House points, but will not contribute to the total score of your Game.
Game Point Scoring System:
10 points – every drabble submitted
150 points – the Golden Snitch (nominated and voted in first place)
100 points – the Quaffle (nominated and voted in second place)
75 points – the Bludger (nominated and voted in third place)
75 points – the Bludger (nominated and voted in fourth place)
