Title: Sorted Rating: G Word Count:155 House: Gryffindor Summary: Dobby cleans Dumbledore’s office. It takes place when Hermione was leaving knitted clothing everywhere for the house elfs.
“Sockses keep falling off Dobby’s feet.” He lifted up his foot and grabbed the many layers of colourful socks in his fists. The elf pulled, losing his balance and fell into the shelf next to him.
“Oopsies.” Trinkets rattled; a large ratty hat drifted to the floor.
Stepping over to it, Dobby tilted his head. “Hats are in Mater Dumbledore’s office, too?”
He picked it up and added it to the top of the hats that decorated his head.
“It talks to Dobby!” he gasped. Maybe he had some of Winky’s drink by mistake…
His eyes widened as he listened to the internal battle between his unwavering loyalty and his unquestionable bravery. That he was willing to die for his friends was an argument made for both houses. But the hat made a decision and then fell silent.
“Oh, Gryffindor!” He squeaked, tossing the hat from his head. “Just wait until I tells Harry Potter!”
