Title: All Is Not Always Lost Rating: PG Prompt #:#5: Peas in A Pod Word Count: 192 words. Summary: All is not always as lost as Molly thinks.
She weeps into Arthur’s arms, and it is though the past eighteen years have not even existed.
She weeps into Arthur’s arms then, his body harder, his hair thicker and his arms closing more tightly around her while Bill holds onto his siblings and Ron sleeps quietly in his grandfather’s arms. She weeps for Fabian, she weeps for Gideon and she weeps for the lives they never saw and the uncles they could never truly be.
She weeps for Fred, and all he has lost. His future, his business, his mischief, his teasing of Ron now that he had finally done something about Hermione, his jubilation in knowing this was all finally, finally over. She weeps more when she realises that Fred would never know the outcome.
She weeps further when the door opens and George stumbles in, and she loses track of the tears which fall down her face as she sees Fred and Gideon and Fabian.
“Oh, my Georgie, you’re still here. You’re still here.” She weeps for her son, and for all he has lost, and for his future alone. They have not lost everything, not yet. Not again.
